Why I Chose Boudoir Photography – And Why It’s So Much More Than Just Photos

One of the questions I get asked the most is:
“Why boudoir?”

And the truth is, I could talk about it for days. Boudoir photography isn’t just what I do – it’s what I believe in, with all my heart. It’s where my love for photography and my passion for empowering women collide in the most beautiful, transformative way.

Where it all began

I first fell in love with photography when I picked up my very first camera at just eight years old. Fast forward several decades and I’ve learned that what I truly love isn't just taking pictures – it’s capturing something real.

What truly lights me up is helping women see themselves with fresh eyes. To uncover the confidence and beauty that’s already within them – often buried beneath layers of doubt, daily life, or unrealistic expectations.

Why boudoir?

As women, we carry so much. We achieve so much. But so rarely do we give ourselves permission to stop, reflect, and see ourselves. I was searching for a way to honour all of that – and that’s when I found boudoir.

Boudoir photography is powerful because it gives you control over how you’re seen. It’s artistic. It’s deeply personal. It’s raw, romantic, strong, soft – sometimes all at once. And no two sessions are ever the same, because no two women are the same.

More than just a shoot

From the moment I photographed my first boudoir client, I was hooked. I watched how the experience shifted something in her – how she walked differently, a little taller and held herself with a new kind of pride.

That’s when I realised: this is what I’m meant to do.

Reflecting back the energy and beauty I see in every woman, helping her see herself with kindness and strength – that’s my mission. Not to create images for the world, but to create reminders for you. That you’re already enough. Already powerful. Already beautiful.
